Manchester United in England is by far the most popular team with the most fans, and since the inception of the Premier League in 1992, the most successful British club team. After “ManU” waiting for their first league title for 16 years, had to win the title in the last 13 seasons succeeded for the same eight times This also means that Manchester United just behind Liverpool, the great rival, ranked second in the North West of England.
The splendor in which the modern Old Trafford Stadium shines today is far different than the humble early days of the club, as the club name yet “Newton Heath LYR (Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway)” was a 1878 railway workers established football club. After the club was joined in 1892 the “Football League”, the club was renamed Manchester United. A decade later, in 1908, the club celebrated its first league championship title.
However, it took until after the Second World War, to Manchester United began to make a name for himself as a guarantee of victory. The man responsible, who stood behind this success story was the Scotsman Matt Busby. When he joined the club, the home games were played in the neighboring City of Manchester Stadium, as the Old Trafford was heavily damaged during the war by bombing. Under his leadership, however, both the Stadium and the team developed jointly emblematic institutions.After Manchester United won three championship titles in the fifties, was the exciting young team that was affectionately called the “Busby Babes”, virtually wiped out in a plane crash in Munich in February 1958 on his way back from a game in Belgrade in the European Cup Winners Cup . The crash of a total of 23 people were killed, of whom eight Manchester United players.
After Busby himself had recovered from his injuries, he built a new team, whose members include such world-class players were to be found, such as Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law. A decade later, his team won with a 4-1 victory over Benfica at Wembley for the first time the European Cup.After the success of the sixties, however, Manchester United went through in the seventies, a relatively long dry spell. Just as Busby Ferguson also recognized that the key to success lay in young talented young professionals. He was absolutely right, because a new generation of players like Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and Paul Scholes, the series success came on again. After the long wait for a league title in 1993 came to an end, Manchester United dominated English football during the next ten years. 1999 hit “ManU” in Barcelona, the German record champion Bayern Munich and won the European Cup for the second time.
