Britain’s Prince George’s baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury in St. James’s Palace wednesday’s afternoon, one of the oldest royal palaces in London.
The boy underwent initiation into the Church’s inner circle: there were bad twenty guests in the palace, writes the BBC today.
Queen
Among them were his parents, Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, Queen Elizabeth, her husband Prince Philip and their son, Prince Charles. There were four family members of Kate and seven godparents of the little prince George and their partners.
William and Kate were deliberately chosen because it is smaller and more personal than Buckingham Palace, where many members of the British royal family were baptized. For a christening in St. James’s Palace.
Christening Gown
George Wednesday afternoon wore a replica of the satin and lace christening dress from Victoria, the daughter of the eponymous queen, who was baptized in 1841. She later became Empress of Germany and Queen of Prussia.
After the ceremony is a picture of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George made, just as in 1894, the future King Edward VIII after his baptism was photographed with his father, grandfather and great-grandmother. The photo is to all appearances published Thursday.
The three-month-old son of Prince William and his wife Kate is third in line to the throne.
