Son of former Pakistan prime minister kidnapped during election campaign

The son of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani of Pakistan kidnapped by Armed men. Men took Ali Haider Gilani along during a campaign meeting in the southern Pakistani province of Punjab.

The kidnappers opened fire with a bodyguard of Gilani and five other attendees were slain.

Opponents

On Saturday the parliamentary elections in Pakistan instead. In pre-election have several  violent incidents occurred. Ex-Prime Minister Gilani said that his political opponents are behind the kidnapping.

Yousuf Raza Gilani was in June last year, Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was forced to resign because he would not prosecute corruption. President Asif Ali Zardari Gilani’s son has joined in the elections.

Attacks

It’s the last day of campaign participants may perform in the elections. Today In recent weeks there have been several attacks in Pakistan.

The Taliban have threatened attacks on election day. The attacks are directed against “the system of the infidels that democracy is called.
