Daft Punk masks and headphones

Upon entering all the fans had to return their phone. A little nervously shuffled everyone in the hall where a mountain Daft Punk masks and headphones ready layers (ie it was a silent disco). After a warm welcome by Michiel Veenstra and a great group everyone sat on the benches and beanbags to listen. The latest creation of the French dance duo

What were the expectations?

The expectations were  high. It could hardly be otherwise after hearing the first official single “ Get Lucky“with Pharrell Williams. Josiene (25 years old from Amsterdam) was therefore especially curious how the second issue of Daft Punk with Pharrell Williams (and Nile Rodgers) would sound, namely ‘Lose Yourself To Dance’. Is that just such a hit? Rosalie (23 years old from Amsterdam) looked most forward to working with pianist Chilly Gonzales. And also the track where Panda Bear would be heard, boasted high expectations.

The listening session  Random Access Memories

The listening session lasted about an hour. Most fans sat with a smile on the face back with their headphones on.  “The album is a bit mellow. Very fat, but I was at one point also looking for a track that would go to the hole, as we Daft Punk used to. And that was for sure, because the last one was epic! “ left Niels (26 years old from Amsterdam) know. Cestmir (19 years old from Enschede) could not sit still. He was dancing all night. “The record is much better than I expected,” he said afterwards. “I’m very glad I came, despite the journey of 3.5 hours. Especially the song ‘Giorgio By Moroder ‘I found very fat! “

Daft Punk featuring Giorgio Moroder

The third song, ‘ by Giorgio Moroder , “Daft Punk made along the major Italian musician and producer from the disco era Giorgio Moroder. This song was for many fans one of the favorites.  “Thanks Giorgio Moroder is the sound of Daft Punk become a bit laid-back, old school and disco. Very cool!”  said Connor and Klaas (both 19 years old from Alkmaar).

“Give Life Back To Music” by Nile Rodgers

The first song of the album, “Give Life Back To Music” with Nile Rodgers, was also very good in taste.“This is really the track of the album and says everything about the new Daft Punk. because they want ‘ life ‘back into the music, not just music from computers, but the sound of real people! And that worked! “ late Michiel Veenstra know afterwards.

What was found in general of the plate?

“Lose Yourself To Dance” (featuring Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers) would be a good second single. The audience could not sit still and began to clap merrily along (because yes, you do that with a silent disco). Generally Random Access Memories  an innovative plate. The robot-like sound is less present, but that just makes way for a more jazzy and experimental sound with pounding beats.

Will you buy Random Access Memories?

“The album did not sound rough as I expected from Daft Punk. But it is ab-so-lutely no disappointment. Certainly not! Precisely this innovative sound makes Daft Punk to who they are. I will definitely buy the album,” let Josiene know. Niels and Dan (31 years old from Amsterdam) to the new Daft Punk also stand. Their collection “I want the record on vinyl,” said Dan.
