The Pakistani politician and former cricketer Imran Khan has acknowledged Sunday that his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Pakistan Movement for Justice) is not made in the parliamentary elections of Saturday.
“There are victories and defeats, but the pain of this defeat is gone because I have seen the enthusiasm of youth” said Khan.Khan is very popular among young voters.
Victory
Winner of the election is old hand in Pakistan’s political course, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif . His party, the Pakistan Muslim League, probably 130 of the 272 elective seats in the accolades, making it the largest party in the country.
Sharif demanded Saturday that carefully victory in parliamentary elections in Pakistan.
86 million voters
Big loser of the elections is likely the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which was in power for the past five years.
On election day were at least 17 deaths from attacks. Yet millions of Pakistanis cast their votes. There are 86 million voters in Pakistan.
The Election Commission expects a turnout of 60 percent of the 70,000 polling stations. In 2008, only 44 percent show up.
Civilian Government
The parliamentary elections are historic. Pakistan is often controlled by a military coup leaders who had come to power.
For the first time since independence 66 years ago seems a civilian government to make her reign, and about to start contributing to an elected civilian government power.
