Disney is working on a sequel to Oz the Great and Powerful. The film company has confidence in the adventure film in American cinemas from Friday’s run, writes the American film magazine Variety. Mitchell Kapner, who also co-wrote the first film, has been appointed for the scenario of the sequel.
On the plot of the new film is still unknown. Oz the Great and Powerful is a prequel to the story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz that L. Frank Baum in 1900 released. James Franco plays the minor magician Oscar Diggs that is transferred to the land of Oz and ends where the three witches in control.
Disney has high hopes that the film with Franco and Mila Kunis a great success. The film of Sam Raimi got nice reviews and the film company expects the first weekend to pick up $ 80 million. In the Netherlands, the Great and Powerful Oz from 14 March.
