Apple fights Samsung halving compensation

Apple vs Samsung

Apple believes that Judge Lucy Koh 85,000,000 too much deducted from Samsung’s original fine of $ 1.05 billion. The American company contests the decision on the basis of an increase in the number of violated patents.

Koh reduced the penalty early this month to $ 600 million, an opinion which Apple does not allow to sit. According to the manufacturer, Samsung has been convicted in the time frame two devices sold infringed  Apple’s patents. The company therefore feels entitled to an additional $ 85 million, with a total of 16 patents violated. Apple claims more than $ 40 million for violations of the Galaxy S II and punitive damages, plus more than $ 44 million by the Infuse 4G smartphone. Samsung received the fine after a long-running dispute over the violation of many patents from Apple.
