Italian President asks experts for advice

Italy's President Giorgio Napolitano

President Giorgio Napolitano of Italy’s two small groups of expert advice. The experts should develop proposals for institutional and economic reforms that are supported by all parties.

That has Napolitano said Saturday. He does not plan to retire early and wants his mandate perfect. His mandate runs until 15 May

Impasse

The Italian press has been much speculation in recent days that the 87-year-old president would resign . Thus he makes the way for new elections and comes to an end the political stalemate.

The center-left leader Pier Luigi Bersani said Thursday that he fails to form a government. Bersani won the election a majority in parliament.

Napolitano also succeeded Friday after talks with the leaders of political parties in the formation of a new cabinet closer. The Italian president says he does not give up courage and keep trying stranded formation afloat.
