In many children education games, failure is expected. And that should be welcomed because
the failure children experience in games leads to persistent learning and ultimately mastery!
It’s OK to Make Mistakes
Children education games make it possible for kids to attempt and fail. So much of our society is
focused on success and achievement! But yet, games provide situations in which children are
encouraged and supported as they attempt new strategies and methods, and in which they are
“permitted” to fail in safety. Failure provides an opportunity to examine your approach and adjust
your actions to make an effort again next time. In the majority of games, failure is inevitable…
nobody could win ALL of the time, which provides children with a chance to practice valuable life
skills and be rewarded for perseverance, hard work, and ultimately mastery. Children need to
have a safe environment to acquire new skills, and children education games are a fun way to
provide structure and reinforcement of concepts.
Task Mastery
Kids learn by emulating grown ups and older kids and are most challenged by activities that are
just beyond their current skill level. A lot of children education games supply a perfect opportunity
for kids to practice and master brandnew
skills though observing and communicating with other
players. Games also present a challenge in which repetition is encouraged, and achieving game
goals could reinforce a growing sense of selfefficacy.
By playing games, kids have the ability to improve their cognitive, motor, and social abilities while doing a rewarding activity.
The Future of Education
Bill Gates has described his vision of future classrooms as ones where pupils are arranged
based on skill set. One group huddles around a computer playing children education games or
perhaps performing on a virtual platform. One more works with a human instructor obtaining
immediate instruction, while one more may get a digital tutorial given from their instructor’s
avatar.
This form of “gamebased” learning is a priority of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a
nonprofit founded by Mr. Gates.
Bill Gates goes on to say that there are lessons to be learned from the excitement kids have
when taking part in video games. This includes that winning is generally a motivator and that
pupils must have the ability to move up to the next level when ready.
The list of benefits in children education games, including more advantages to expecting failure
when playing, goes on and on. This is because of all the advantageous things that come with it!
