A Colombian citizen for more than 30 years has been titled the new director of the National Weather Service.
Dr. Louis W. Uccellini, 63, who said he shifted into his present home in Oakland Mills in August 1978, was chosen as the 16th director of the National Weather Services,This year marked as 143rd anniversary forecasting and maintaining information of weather conditions. Uccellini will officially take the helm of the National Weather Service on Feb. 10.
In a declaration published by NWS Uccellini said, “It’s an honor to lead such a prestigious organization with irresistible objective of safeguarding lives and livelihood. The previous year had its achievements stories with excellent outlooks, forecasts and alerts, such as for Sandy, but complications remain. Our eyes stay closed on the future to make sure a National Weather Service that is 2nd to none and facilitates a weather-ready nation.”
Uccellini said that he will keep on to live in Columbia as NWS Director.
“He has no programs on shifting, His wife works in Columbia and They like it where they’re at,” said Uccellini.
Uccellini was saying that when his three kids, Anthony, Francesca and Dominic, were rising up in Columbia.
