After finishing school in 1996 he enrolled at UCLA, which he abandoned after a year. Not much longer (15 months) studied at Robert Carnegie’s Playhouse West. He made his debut in 1997 cameo role in “Pacific Blue”, in 1999, he played Matt in the miniseries “Police Badge” and Daniel in the TV series “Freaks and Geeks” (after the series was suspended due to low viewing figures).

His upcoming roles include Jason in “Never Been Kissed”, Chris in “Whatever it takes” (the set of the film James met his current girlfriend, actress Marla Sokoloff).His talent was recognized, however, until the lead role in the television movie “James Dean.” It was after seeing Robert De Niro decided that James will play his son in the movie “City by the Sea”.

The casting call for “Spider-Man” sought the leading role – but it accounted for Tobey’owi Maguire and James starred as Harry Osborn.Awards: Golden Globe for Best Actor and a nomination for an Emmy for her role in the movie “James Dean”.
